Irfanview.

You can't get more minimal than this and functionality is covered via keyboard shortcuts.

the default one. it's just a basic software.
How autistic do you have to be to install a third party software?

OP and this boy have such sweet plans. He wanted to prepare a nice dinner for his girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. So romantic. Then he met me and got seduced by the prospect of easy money. I think he would normally tell me to go away but he was a bit tipsy when I met him. He was at his friend’s place, had a few beers, and then head home to cook. Alcohol always makes my job easier. Still, I had to reach very deep into my pocket. Fortunately, he was open-minded. He even had some gay friends so he wasn’t scared by me like straight dudes sometimes are. He told me a funny story about a guy who offered him a notebook in exchange for sex. I had much better offer for him. I could tell he felt bad about it but he agreed eventually.

First time I've seen anyone prefer that.

Normally when you prefer it as general image viewer, you'd want the scroll wheel to page to the next image or previous image.

When you prefer it as a manga reader, you'd want the Zoom settings at Fit-to-Width, and the scroll wheel for vertical scolling, as well as paging to next image at the end of the scroll.

That's a media player, right?
Is that practical?

How does it deal with images that are high resolution, for example:
http://i.4cdn.org/vg/1478369682025.jpg
?

I bet you can't even pan around the image at 100% zoom because the OS restricts your video player resolution.
>>
>>57403163
It doesn't pan or zoom so if it's a very large resolution image and I want that functionality I just open the file in paint.

For basic image viewing it's great, extremely fast and basic (no GUI even) and I can just press Q to close the window. It Just Werks™

Irfanview is great. Here are some of the features I like:
Plugin system allows you to install plugins for additional file types including things like text files.
Holding down the arrow key on your keyboard moves through hundreds or thousands of images VERY quickly.
Basic image processing accessible with easy keyboard shortcuts.
Batch image processing is intuitive and very powerful.
The options available for scaling to window or conditionally scaling based on size are good.
Portable version available.

I guess you should use that other program them.

For me when I browse any of my transparent images, I want a static preset background so I can properly assess the image, and not have my browser disrupt it with its content.

An image viewer isn't a fashion statement, nor is is a wall paper for taking fancy screenshots.

I don't particularly recommend this feature though.
When you have a minimalist image viewer with 0 borders, and 0 title bar, you sort of depend on know where to hover your mouse to get those options back.
>>
>>57413207
Technically I didn't claim Honneyview was as minimal as it gets. Just that it's more minimal than irfanview (which was claimed to be the most minimal, so you should have pointed at him instead of me)

ACDSee
>>

I'm using version 5.07 from bandisoft.

It has a shitty unwanted feature where, if I drag the image to check if I can pan around in the image, the whole window will be dragged around as if I wanted to move the window.

In the past I could always move the window by floating over the title bar and move with the title bar.
And if I dragged around an image, I would be able to check whether it would pan or be static.

I haven't updated it since then. Maybe I should beg in the forum or something to have them fix it.

>>
>>57413367
>No, why would it?
Because I have webm files in my image folders.

An image viewer's job is to view images. Not videos. Anything that has the functionality to view webms can likely view other video formats, and at that point it's not just an image viewer anymore.
>>
>>57413402

>>

>An image viewer's job is to view images.
No, an image viewer's job is to view whatever is in your image folder.
Definitions of media files can change over time, rigid dinosours such as yourself will become obsolete.

People on 4chan don't use webm as videos, they use them as enhanced .gif images. The usage pattern has evolved.

>and at that point it's not just an image viewer anymore.
No one gives a fuck as long as it can view what's in the image folder, instead of skipping content out of idealism's sake.

You can always cripple it so it can't play audio and free up resources that way.
>>
>>57413520
>People on 4chan don't use webm as videos
Who gives a fuck how people use them, it's a video format through and through. Go get a bloated media viewer like Irfanview to scroll through your memes.

>>57413520
Here's a thought, maybe consider learning to distinguish between an image and a video, and then sort them accordingly?

"Whatever is in your image folder" can get pretty broad if you're this retarded.
>>
>>57413559
>Who gives a fuck how people use them
Image viewer programmers should give a fuck about what the majority of people have im their image folders.
That's part of their job description.

You're so far out there, bound by your format ideology what you can't even admit you yourself is part of the evolution and have a need for it, since you yourself have mixed webm files into your image folders.

Way to back yourself up into a corner.

its free, you only need to make a Adobe ID, install the Adobe Manager and select install bridge.
Its very handy for organize images, even if you have folders with 30k or more images in it, since it is my case.
I use Irfanview for see individual images for see better or make it wallpaper. Bridge has preview, but Irfanview works better to get a better look for a single image. Just make the defaults select a image viewer and not the photoshop.

I only need to disable the services and the startup stuff from adobe, to avoid get useless stuff running in backgroud.
>btw using PS CC pirated, and adobe didnt make any red flags, since i dind updated in the adobe manager(disable every thing in the settings, you never know...).

It's not about being autistic or /needing/ third party software. Personally, I want to be able to replace any part of my system. That includes disabling or completely removing the defaults.

WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.irfanview-wine winecfg
WINEPREFIX=~/.irfanview-wine winetricks -q mfc42
chmod +x ~/Downloads/iview442_setup.exe

QUICKPARLOCATION="c:\\Program Files\\IrfanView\\i_view32.exe"
PARAM=`winepath -w "$*"`
WINEPREFIX=~/.irfanview-wine /usr/bin/wine "$QUICKPARLOCATION" "$PARAM"
exit 0
