Apple is dead. The infinite loop is gone, because the X connected all the loops on the command key (the clover), which then lead to the clarification of Pro devices mobile and desktop and consumer devices mobile and desktop (X structure for 4 different flavours - pro desk/mobile and con desk/mobile). With them moving out of the infinite loop in Cupertino they break their own Apple and Command key. They literally destroy their own key of success.

The small MBP should be a fucking 13" macbook and not a MBP, it's fucking ridiculous. There is nothing Pro about having no ports and an absurdly bad performance for the buck. The MBA sucks now, no upgradable RAM and SSD which will lead to tons of dead devices in about a decade. I can easily boot one of my PowerMac or G3s or G4s, because I can put in full PRAM batteries, new RAM and new HDDs with new DVD ROMs. This is a thing of the past with the new Apple devices. There's a caveeat. The HDMI port only supports 4k at 30hz.

Otherwise 10gbits of USB 3.1 Gen 2 is enough for 1gbit ethernet, 5gbit for a 3.0 Hub, 4gbits for HDMI 4k 30hz. The card reader probably shares bandwidth with the hub though.

Wow, my $700 Acer Laptop performs better than that! It also has more functionality (USB, SD Card, USB-C, HDMI). Even when you factor in software on the MacBook (like iMovie), it doesn't seem like it's anywhere close to being worth its asking price.

That screen though is pretty nice. I travel a lot with my laptop, and being able to work outside better would be a major plus with the additional lighting.

It's almost exclusively Avid actually, FCP7 had a large userbase of professionals and was industry standard, while FCPX might not be industry standard anymore it's pretty capable of being used by professionals and lots of people still prefer it, and it's the best for on the go editing because it's the one which renders faster.
For amateurs it's either Premiere, FCPX or some other autistic shit no one uses like the Blackmagic software. Amateurs don't do AVID.
