On holiday at the moment.

>Burns through 200+ in literally 10 mins

I even closed all her apps and made sure she wasn't downloading Facebook/Snapchat videos automatically etc.

We did a test and sat there for 10mins with nothing running on her phone in the task list

What the fuck is this shit?

I've never had an iPhone (tm) device but judging from searches on the internet, they burn through mountains of data for no reason. Presumably background tasks that can't be stopped.

Go to settings > cellular and make sure most of non essential apps are not checked. This list is what gives them perm to use mobile data

shit sorry anon. I didn't see the whole using phone as a wifi hotspot. Sadly not even android let alone iphones have an option to limit wifi data use for apps. At least not that I recall.

Android has a metered wifi network selection that can be enabled per AP that will cause the data to be treated with the same restrictions as cellular when data saver is enabled.
