You do. Every gram counts. Less weight == longer flight time, cheaper motors. Every gram you save on structure is a gram you can budget to batteries.

I mean yeah you can diy this stuff, but lot of times it's easier and less hassle to just order the kit and focus on the other aspects of the project. Some people aren't good with their hands and don't have the tools to do this easily.
