Can someone explain to me why regular AdBlock (not ABP) is shit? I've used it since forever and love the filter lists they offer and the ability to hide social media and other shit.
I've heard its a resource hog but I don't have a shitty chinkpad so I don't care if it uses an extra .5gb of memory.

I can't remember the last time I saw an ad and if I do I just add it to the filter list. There is an "acceptable ads" option like what ABP has built in except on normal AB you can turn it off easily.

AB lets websites get past it if they feed it enough shekels, ABP is easy to bypass and most websites won't load at all or display that "turn off that pesky adblock" shit if they detect it.
UBlock Origin with the raspberry pi hosts list+UMatrix is the patrician choice.
