Steve died, Cook took over and had enough people on Cook's and Ive's side to get rid of him. People could only handle one Jobs type character, not two.

Yes, there was a fuck up with maps. Yes, there was some other fuck up but do you know what? Getting rid of someone who has successfully designed & built so many of Apple's successful software products just because of a software glitch is ludicrous.

Mark my words: once Apple reaches the depths of despair like in the 90s, Forstall will return, like Jobs, to lead it back from the brink.
