I'm gonna get me a new mouse in a few months because this fucking MS mouse I have now has been double clicking for a while and has now started triple clicking sometimes. It's truly a hell to live with.

1) receipts go in folder, ordered chronologically by date of expiration
1a) whenever inserting new receipt into the folder, check the latest and discard if expired until non-expired receipt is reached
2) boxes go in each other (as convenient) for optimum storage space utilization

>having to repair 6 month old products is reasonable

Do you work for Saitek
>>
>>57357009

every Logitech mouse starts double clicking after a while actually

>>57356963

Fixing it takes less than an hour though. If you have problems putting that thing back on its place (you'll know what thing I'm talking about) just look at it very carefully and you will find a tiny tiny notch that you need to lock on some lace you will eventually find out. Use a magnifying glass and whatever you do don't try to force it. Also if you accidentally break the plastic cover of the switch that's all right (but try not to), it really doesn't matter.
>>
>>57358664
No. I didn't have to repair anything in my g400 that I have for at least 4 years, but once it does break I will probably just fix it and keep using it.

I'll level with you retards
you don't even have to replace the microswitch if you are actually good at fixin shit unlike >>57358570

there are two locking tabs on either side of the switch
carefully release them and remove the top half of the switch.
under that you will find a lil thin strip of metal between two contact points, gently bend that fucker upwards and clean the whole thing with 90% iso, re assemble, problem solved

I did not know this was a thing. I change my mice when the grips are worn out, anywhere between three and ten years. Most of them have been logitech IIRC. What the fuck do you guys do to your peripherals?
>>
>>57359222
>What the fuck do you guys do to your peripherals?
Use them every day for 12-16 hours.
>>
>>57359222
Hardcore usage, like gaming.
>>
>>57358875
This is actually terrible advice, unbending delicate parts like this will often lead to a) breaking part of it b) it going back to bad very soon. It's not worth the effort and not a solution. You don't fix parts like this, you just replace them, period. The only reason to not replace entire micro switches is if you don't own soldering station.
>>
I have a 10 year old MX510 that has seen constant, daily use for that entire period.

When I wasn't living the glorious NEET life as i am now I actually took it to work and used it for 8 hours a day, then proceeded to haul it home with me every day for that 3 year period.

At one point I kind of wanted it to die so I could justify buying a new mouse... then I realized that I've had this mouse since before I started dating my wife.
>>
>>57359248

Does that involve smashing it in a fit of rage when you lose? Because that's the only thing that I could imagine would really strain a mouse.
>>
>>57359321
Maybe one day you can pass it on to your wife's son.

Never had to do that, but over the years my switches have notched the plastic on the underside of the mouse buttons to the degree where clicks stopped registering unless I CLICKED REAL HARD

My current hackfix is putting some adhesive tape on the underside of the buttons and it's working all right so far, but I certainly wouldn't mind suggestions...

How do you destroy a mouse? I mean, convincingly? If I take it apart and take a photo of it, is that enough?
>>
>>57372682
I am, bought i in 2011. The scrollwheel jumps and can not be considered 100% but it's workable and I hope It'll hold forever.

No, they asked me to literally break every part of it, ever board, everything.

i hope you broke components in more than on place and took different photo sessions by separating differents pieces and leving other pieces touching in a way to obsfuscate the separation rim (perhaps with shitty low res camera)

also each session protographed over a different table

then you have several different* broken mice for future use

What advantage would one get by switching to a more modern mouse? Seriously, the only things I could think of would be retarded shit like gaymen.
>>

If you don't require a mouse with a perfect sensor to begin with then you were an idiot for buying anything that cost more than $10 either way

I got a MX Master earlier in the year and fixed the whole swapping between free wheel and ratchet mode on the scroll with a couple diddly little o-rings and it's my favourite mouse I've ever used

luckily my MX518 which I upgraded from is still working perfectly, so I've got a top tier backup, too

My Logitech MX400 from 2009 still works just fine.
