Thinking if I should get a 15 Macbook Pro instead of my iMac
how will this iMac stack up agains new MacBooks?

CPU is better, graphics card is equal or marginally better in the 2016 base 15 inch. faster read/write speeds on the macbook. and you're giving up 8gb ram. IMO just get the macbook and dongle up a 4k monitor

thanx
the 13" model would be way slower right?
I feel like my i7 CPU is pretty powerful and not sure those 15" models would be any faster
feels like I would win mobility but loose slight preformace
right?

If portability is not an issue, hackintosh plus top tier monitor, or dual/triple mid tier monitor. Cost less unless you want gaming gpu.
If you need portability, macbook pro late-2015.
iMacs are not worth it, even with 5k the display meme.

you probably won't notice that much difference in processing power, both are quad core i7s. the one in the 15 inch macbook is just a slightly newer architecture.
i mean yeah, don't expect to get blown out by any improvements in performance, that 2013 iMac is already highly specced and it takes about 2 years for laptop components to catch up to desktop components in the first place.
I'd get the MBP just for freedom of being able to unplug it (and because it's new), but obviously that depends on what you're using it for. i don't think the 2016 13'' is worth it because it's still only a dual core with no dedicated GPU and only comes with 8 gbs standard for $600 less. if you want to get the 2016 MBP, 15'' is just better value.

that was my suspicion
I love the screen size of 27"
not very mobile but when I'm at the computer its very nice!
