I think what the problem is probably calling for is something like an online insertion sort. That way you can add new names immediately as you receive them.

Alternatively, if you were given the names to add in one big chunk, it's possible that it will be more efficient to sort that chunk first, then merge it into the original list.

As your reading comprehension seems terrible let me explain:

You have to make a table in alphabetical order.
The new names may not come in in alphabetical order, but when inserted into the table they must then be in alphabetical order.
