Tis but a humble station (i7 4790k + Fury X on custom loop however) but its mine, and I love it.
Looking into changing the loop up though, fixing up the flow direction + making the more visible parts of it hard tubing, and leaving the rad to rad to res as soft tubing for convenience.

I have my computer on the floor and it doesn't get so dusty. I don't have any fans that take in air from the bottom though, but you could always rearrange the fans if you have them some other way.

Don't know if I would call it overly pretentious, it's just a monitor stand and the right monitor is standing on a stack of books.
The monitor stand was well worth it, frees lots of space under the monitors and makes them easy to adjust.

i dont know that mouse but i use a mouse with teflon pads underneath so theoretically it works well everywhere but when you use a mousepad there is just next to no friction. you don't hear anything, you don't feel bumps from the table. of course i dont know how even your table is but for me the difference could be described as the difference between sleeping on the floor and on a matress. they are not expensive nowadays, i got mine custom printed from china for 10€. >>57322902

Sure man no prob. They are regular lcd panels with a controller board. See the link above. They hook up to vid card/gpu same as any other display. What it is nice is you can select what connection type you want to use, or some come with one of every kind on the controller board(hdmi, vga, dvi, display port). My system has 2 GPUs, one powering mains and Vr and one powering little lcd's and projector. I could add 2 more with my available open connections on 2nd car. Thought of adding a 10-11 inch over center but Rift sensor and trackIR there now. Might mess with it to see if useful.I use them for TS, Steam, Music player, Skype, Browser if mains in use, and for Helios, UltraMFCD data export for sims(I see your jstick there so flight guy as well I assume). If you haven't seen my jstick setup before let me know. It is pretty cool and something only other sim guys can appreciate really I think haha. Here are closer pics of little screens.

Sorry, maybe pics confused you, was one I had on hand. The bottom 2 pics just show a lcd screen in a TM Cougar MFD, to show fit, it is used in sims. The lcd's themselves come with 3 pieces. The panel and the panel menu buttons board you see below them, then there is the control board, which is behind them(not seen in pics). The connection from your GPU goes to controller board and then the lcd panel and panel menu buttons board connect to it. Just check out the links in the sellers site and you can see those, they are like the size of a credit card to 1.5 credit cards depending on specs.

I have had a couple people suggest I should try to make a kit or something, at least a build guide they liked my setup so much. Who knows. I may be doing one for a friend and will document the steps if I do. But it wasn't hard and only tough parts were the welding but had a guy at a muffler shop do that for me. But I did cut all the metal sheet and pipe. Harbor Freight sells tools for cheap. Metal cutting wheel was less than $20 and pipe cutter was less than $15. Saw, drill and a file or 2 and that was all I needed. Already owned most of the tools anyways. Was fun as shit making it though and looking at a new proj to start. Mini motion platform is what I am aiming for I think.

I have a few different ones in diff res and aspect ratios. 4:3 and 16:10, 16:9. 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x800..etc..they go up to 1920x1080 or even higher, just depends on the panel you buy . Just check out his store. He has 3.5inch up to 20inch with all options in between. Touch, non-touch.And yes, display port connections are available, just check em out.

I haven't been on /g/ figured this would be the best thread to post in as it seems like you guys pay a lot of attention to things like cable management and airflow. I do camera work for a media production company. We primarily use Mac products and wanted a portable editting station that was more powerful and cost effective than using a Macbook with more screen space while still staying mobile. Decidedly today we ordered a specced out Mini and 8 terabytes of storage between two separate G-Drives, and a 21 inch monitor. All of which we intend on cramming into a Pelican case with the screen mounted in the lid. I've been tasked with helping put this monstrosity together.

Where am I going to run into problems? How would I route cabling/power it efficiently? Will I run into problems with heat considering I'm going to run it only when it's open?

other NUCs can be mounted on the vesa mount of the monitor. not sure if it's also possible on a mac mini.
but if it is, that would probably save some space. you can put the monitor-computer combo in the lid, and the free space around the mac mini and behind the screen can be used for your drives (or anything else).

I'm trying to find some sort of durable AC plug in that I could mount on the outside of the case so that we can power it externally.
