Debating what sort of monitor setup I want to shop for soon. I'm saving up for a 4k gaymin/VR rig in the near future but I want to upgrade my hod-podge monitor setup with some matching 27s. Would I just be better off buying a 4k monitor and gaming in 1080 on it?

Current state of my battlestation.
LEDs have fallen off from their original tape as well as the so called "Super High Bond" double stick tape. Been trying 3M double stick foam tape to no avail. I don't know if it's the heat or what, but if anyone has ideas, I could really use them.
I've considered getting aluminum channel with frosted glass, but I don't know how I'd attach that to the monitors.
