Why android support is so shit? I'm with a Zenfone 2, launched last year and still no Android M to me. The security flaws of Lolipop are extreme, user privacy isn't respected, or you give access to every single thing on your phone or you cant install an app. Why the fuck a single player game wants my contact list? Alright fellas, got some questions for you that might seem dumb, but i am seriously considering buying an iphone. I've used android most of my life, which I currently have a note 4.

Quite frankly I'm sick of OS updates only lasting two years with android. Which I've heard apple is a lot better in that regards. Thankfully it seems like Android is getting better with rolling out timely updates but not as quick.

I don't know if its because i'm older, but I'm kinda over customization on my phone. I expect it with my computer, but not for my phone, I just want it to work with minimal problems. That means no more sec updates. It's a shame what google did to the line. We will never see subsidized dev phones with good hardware now that Android is popular.

Recently replaced the battery on my N5. Planning to dump a decent ROM on it now that support is up. Was doing fine with rooted stock until now.

The smartshit market has gotten saturated so there is really no reason to upgrade imo. The only nice feature would be waterproofing and a higher capacity battery but it's not worth the 600-900USD.

I'm sort of at my wit's end with this so I decided to ask here.

So just recently, AT&T forced my Note 5 to update. A few days later, when I tried to access the files on my phone via my tower, all I see are multiple local drives and some folders that I recognize. When I open some of the folders, they're all blank.

I even unlocked the phone and had USB debugging turned off. I even tried the method of accessing the USB pull down notification to change it from 'Transferring media files' to 'Charging' and back but no luck.

I think doing a factory reset will work but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

I'm fucking done dealing with the pile of shit Sprint has turned my G3 into with OTA updates and forced, unremovable apps.

What's a good "minimal" ROM to put on? I don't want a trillion special apps or effects or whatever, just barebones with encryption.

What about a moto nexus 6 in 2016. It's two years old but doesn't seem much worse than a 6p or even a pixel.

Is there something I'm missing?

Guys I finally did it. I bought an iPhone 7+. I went from S3 > S4 > Note 4 and was going to buy the Note 7. My note 4 started to lag and reboot so often that I factory reset the phone multiple times to no avail. so I got this phone yesterday and so far so good. Battery life has been fantastic and the phone is extremely fast. I have noticed some stuff I've missed from android and some stuff I like more than android.

A Sony Xperia M was my old smartphone, but I broke it last week. My desktop computer is out of action and I'm using a cheapo phone right now on public WiFi to access the Internet.
