I have someone offering me a 64GB Sandstone Black OnePlus One for a damned good price (far better than I was expecting) with original box, accessories, bamboo back cover (including the original Sandstone Black cover too).

I know it was "the phone" for a while considering the price and with 64GB I can (almost) live comfortably knowing it doesn't have expandable storage or a removable battery but I'm just wondering what others think.

Any OPO owners out there willing to offer some advice or suggestions? What ROM(s) are you using on your devices, battery life (considering the OPO is just over 2 years old now so I expect to be getting a new battery soon if I get this).

Anyone... anyone... Bueller? Bueller?

OPO owner reporting in.

>advice or suggestions
Get it on cyanogenmod or nightlies if it isn't already. Sultan's cm13 is also good but personally i want to get rapid updates because 7.0/7.1. Still opo is loved by devs so take your pick on ROMs, its pretty fun if it's your thing.
Get a kernel or flash ukm for that freedum to tweak. Makes a difference.

>battery life
Haven't changed out it's battery, and I've had the phone for 2yrs now but battery life holds well. Get approx 5hrs SOT with 1-1.5days unplugged from the wall. I keep data and location always on, as well as bluetooth cos pebble time steel. Used to be amazing back in the kitkat days, often hitting 7hrs+ but oh well:(

It still runs wonderfully, i can't complain. Everything is smooth, has all the bells and whistles (5ghz wifi, nfc, faster lte support than my carrier can deliver so far) and it just does everything i want. Camera is good, get the snapdragon camera because 60fps video is nice. Yeah its still relevant.

Pretty much what I've been getting as a response in various places so yeah, I'll probably get it. I noticed there's a Kali Nethunter distribution for the OPO as well, in fact the devs of Kali consider it their preferred device for that tool - I'm not a pro pen tester or anything but learning something new can't hurt so that would be cool to play with for a time I suppose.

Was watching some review videos of CM14 on the OPO just now on YouTube, seems to run awfully smooth as expected so yeah, it's definitely something I can't pass up on considering the price (well under $100 cash) so it's not like I'm breaking the bank.

Thanks for the response.

Have one as well, the battery to me seems a bit subpar on certain launchers. Like I couldn't go 5 hours before having to charge. Performance is good but it gets hot. Cameras both is sub-par. Your case options is limited but I don't put a case on it so it doesn't really matter.

Well I don't play games and the only time I max out a device is running Antutu for an occasional benchmark but that would make a device warm anyway - when you say "hot" do you mean really hot to the touch in a certain area (where the SoC actually is) or just kinda warm or... what, exactly?

I'm sure it'll be fine for me without issues, battery life I'm not too worried about, the current owner is the original one, said he has no issues getting a full day of use but that doesn't mean much to anyone else as it's a subjective thing for each of us and our different ways of using such devices.

I have a Galaxy S7 Active presently getting 2.5+ days of battery life with 8+ hours of SOT so just looking for another device I can play around with considering this one is so locked down and probably always will be.

Just wanted to find some device that has good community support, not really interested in any Nexus devices and I figured the OPO would be a good one for experimentation (which I've been doing since long before 'smartphones' came into being anyway).

Area is right under the camera, and its around 50º-55º Celsius under heavy load meaning playing 3d games.

Like I said the OPO has issues with certain launchers, I get much better battery using Microsoft's launcher and APEX. On average I get 6-7 hours constant use. I get a couple(3) days if I am home and all I get is texts and calls.

Is a much better phone. If you want to get a OPO to mod then that's cool but the S7 Active is a much better daily driver.

Plenty of ROMS for the OPO but I always come back to Cyanogen stock since its the most stable. It hasn't always been like this, it was only after several bug fixes and updates.
