/g/ents, I have a laptop lying around and I want to use it as a simple word processor to let me write without distractions, which distro would be most comfy for that purpose?
I've only used ubuntu.
>>57308948
Dos
>>57308948
Debian.

While you do have a point, I'd very much like to be able to easily save and transfer my work online. Also fuck George RR Martin and his pretentious dos word processor
>>57309020
You want a Chromebook.
>>57309020
if you're not concerned about da botnet, ChromeOS
otherwise Debian stable
any fucking os
is that what /g/ has come to ?
I couldn't think of a more stupid question
debian stable
OpenBSD, your wifi won't work.
use asciidoc for your semantic formatting.
>>57308948
Lubuntu
Seriously though...
Distraction-free doesn't work unless you use a type-writer.
>>57309601
still looks distracting. I wouldn't even boot into X. emacs/vim and knowledge of asciidoc is all that is needed.
LITERALLY any OS is good for writing, install gentoo so you can brag about it on /g/ later.
Any distro is fine if you disable the GUI and use a terminal-based text editor.

So just install base Arch

Or, OpenBSD or netinstall Debian or netinstall Fedora or netinstall Openindiana/illumos..or..
