Is any AIO water cooler worth the price? Or is it just a meme?

Is any AIO water cooler worth the price? Or is it just a meme?

Should I get a NH-D15 instead of these overpriced Corsair's liquid coolers?

Also, CPU coolers threads.

Graph shows idle temps.

no active coolers are a meme
passive cooling is the future
>>

So?
>>
>>57306183
If you want good performances, there are a lot of good liquid coolers, but you don't need them. Just go with this NH-D15.
>>
>>57306189
>idle temps are not important
How? Are you always running a benchmark?
>>
>>57306183
Most of them are.

Almost funny

The problem is that efficiency of a water loop goes up with load better than a HSF.

Your system might be at idle most of the time, but idle temps from 29 to 40 literally mean nothing at all. Your CPU doesn't give a shit in that range. It gives a shit when it goes above 80C, so that's what you want to be preventing.
>>
>>57306524
Yeah, but the NH-D15 has good temps on load too.

AIO are worthless until you get a 280mm radiator because shitty pumps and shitty fans

>but just change the fans!

Then you are spending even more money for (relatively) little improvement over a top air cooler and are entering the price range of a custom loop (say, EK predator).

I am happy with my cryorig R1.
Have i7 6800k running at 4.5GHz, idles ~30c and while gaming ~56-59c
If I stress test it, it will reach temps as high as 65-67c.
>>
>>57307021
Wow, nice temps. And what about the noise? Are the fan loud on load?
>>
Something worth mentioning is multiple monitor setups might dramatically increase your GPU idle temperatures and unless you got an exhaust type cooler for your GPU then the case temperature will be increased and by extension, the idle temperature of your CPU.

I've got a 3770k at 4.5GHz with a H110 and 7970 with dual monitor setup.
The GPU idles at 40-45C depending on ambient room temps, and the CPU idles at 35-40C depending on the same.
The CPU maxes out at 65-75C, which is still decent but I would rather have an exhaust type cooler on the GPU to drop the max temperature of the CPU with 5-10C.

Liquid cooling is a meme and has a chance of leaking and destroying your hardware. The NH-D15 is cheaper, more reliable, and gets the same temperatures as liquid coolers
>>
>>57307356
Corsair, at least, covers your hardware with their warranty so if it does leak you will get your hardware replaced.
>>
>>57307402
OK, great. So now I can reach the same Temps as with a NH-D14 but with the risk of having to wait 1 month to get a new computer while corsair replaces my parts because of their shitty equipment.
>>

Just get one of those bequiet! Coolers. They are huge and silent under load. Cools better than aio for less money. Water is a meme unless you have everything in a loop, which ia hundreds of dollars. Even then, its a meme.
>>
I am about to build a new system, and reading all sorts of stuff.

I thought about getting an AIO water cooling for the CPU, but

1.it's expensive

2.it's loud

3.it doesn't do better than any good air cooler, unless you do heavy OC.

4. it doesn't save space in your case, the total volume is actually bigger, you just allocate the space differently

Hate it to be honest.
I want to build an mini-ITX rig, but the cases have the limitation with the CPU cooler height and whatnot.
On the other hand 1 rad + 1 fan is the best I could do, but the downsides are the noise (the fan must have high air pressure and CFM value, which automatically makes them noisy as fuck.

I'd wish I could design my own custom case, which I can, but it would be only digital.

Quality thread on /g/ again. Why the fuck did you make it?
