How do I make pure Arch out of it? Editing pacman.conf seems too thin.
>>
install arch
>>
>>57297230
can't do that. i tried installing it using archanywhere and ended up with a blank screen twice for some reason.
>>
>>57297227
Download Architect ISO, it has a GUI similar to Ubuntu minimal CD.

I must warn you that it has bugs and issues and rarely installs Arch properly without fucking up somewhere.

I don't see why people would choose anything other than Ubuntu if they are serious about using the OS outside of a VM.

just install arch you stupid faggot
>>
>>57297254
a retard could install it you just follow like 10 commands from the wiki
>>
>>57297286
I have been involved in computing for 15 years and for the life of me I can't understand the gibberish wiki and bullshit system of installation.

These autistic turbonerds need to get with the times.

arch is garbage, no doubt, but it isn't hard to install. just slow down and read the fucking wiki.

honeestly though you're better off using a non-meme distro like opensuse or debian
>>
>>57297328
I like to use Ubuntu minimal CD, only 50mb ISO. The process is very fluid and user friendly. I can partition drives easily for dual boot and I get to pick what features/DE I want.
>>
>>57297227
If you want easy arch, don't install antergos and debloat it.
Use the arch anywhere iso to install it.
Also antergos ks literally just arch with an extra repo and with preinstallled crap. Removing bloat will get you down to almost the same amount of packages as a regular arch install.
>>
>>57297353
Yep that's also fine as well. I'm running ubuntu gnome on my laptop now though I'm thinking of going to debian testing.
>>
>>57297286
even i have severe autism, and installed on my first try with like 5 commands
>>
>>57297328
debian is solid trash and so are you.

Installing arch is trivial shit, But I agree the current installation guide is pretty fucking terrible and under documented.

Which is pathetic because I actually remember it being pretty in-depth and informative not too long ago.
>>
>>57297475
They recently dropped the beginner's guide.
It was actually pretty concise. If you already had installed arch a few times, it was a good enough guide to make sure you didn't miss any steps or forgot what to do next.
>>
>>57297227
Edit this file: sudo nano /etc/os-release, change antergos to arch linux. Done. Antergos is nothing more than a couple of tweaked settings and some wallpapers.
>>
>>57297512
Still don't understand why they'd remove the beginners guide, IMO It actually had good information worth noting even for experienced users.

I can understands OP's frustration, it's a shitty guide for anybody who isn't already familiar with arch or doesn't know jack shit to begin with.

Even Gentoo has a better install guide that walks you through every step.

1. Install using antergos base install
2. Remove all packages from antergos repo
3. Modify /etc/grub to remove bootsplash
4. Modify pacman.conf to remove antergos repo
5. Modify /etc/os-release for muh screenfetch
6. Kill yourself

Just because you're 15 years old doesn't mean you have been "involved in computing" for that long.
