So i'm in the market for a new laptop PC under 2k.

I've narrowed my choices down to two. They're pretty much identical except that #1 has a 6MB processor cache and a 4-cell 60W battery, but #2 has an 8MB processor cache, but a 3-cell 52.5W battery.

Any opinions on which of these would be best? Random pic

Mainly work/school, pictures, videos, and some gaming, nothing too hardcore.

More cache, battery life is most comonly dictated if your using your dGPU or not.

Depends. One could have a 55w proc and one could have a 15w proc. Dont just look at battery capavity, look at actual battery life.
