I saw these places for $80 and was considering one for my CECHA PS3 mod.
Sshds do provide benefits for load times.
Calling it a gamer drive is rats

Nah, that's what sells it to gaymer kids.

Does a sshd work with linux partitions or do they cuck you into windows shit?
>>57292690
They work with Linux. To the OS and BIOS it is a 1TB drive.
>>57292690
Careful with that though. You'll want to disable swap, or the NAND will die way faster than you'd think.
>>57292690
The solid state storage part is handled by the HDD itself so it is not OS dependent, and it works by taking some of the most used data and storing it on the flash memory to compensate for the delay of moving the read/write head.

My laptop has one of those hybrids, its a fucking meme or it isnt installed right.

The "Seagate" should be reason enough to put it in the trash. It's going to end up there in a few months anyway; might as well just save some time.
>>57292395
This shit works, it's like having hdd+eboostr on win just all in hardware.

Settle down, you butthurt dumb boys. Also, I'm an intelligent beautiful woman.
Is this the same as the hybrid drive that Apple provides in some of their Mac Pros?
I really hope the ps4pro has an actual sata3 6gbps port because mother fucking PS4 right now has only sata2 making having an SSD in it pointless.
>>57295414
A hard drive cannot saturate the 375MB bandwidth of sata 2, and an ssd provides vastly superior 4k R/W. There is literally no reason not to put an ssd in a current PS4 other than "b-but it`s not going as fast as it could!"
Why does /g/ shit on gaymers so much?
Lets be honest, they're the force that drives the PC industry. They wouldn't be able to afford to develop better computers.
>>57293278
It learns what programs you open a lot, usually boot files and some programs like a web browser or photoshop
>>57296309
better computers... you mean all the autistic looking neon lights and stupid ass cases/keyboards/mice....
I use computers every day for actual work... I maintain databases (some of which reside on SQL server workstations, not servers) and I also develop ETL's. None of which is gaming.
Gamers are pretty insignificant other a little extra margin than you get from a 'regular' PC.
You're a neat little neet.
>>57296309
No, sorry you are wrong. Enterprise is where the money and the "force" that drives the industry.

>i'm that butthurt about videogames
