Hello guys, longtime Debian Sid user who switched to Arch recently here.
Not sure if you have the same problem I do but to me it feels that Gnome is much more sluggish with Arch.
Even when running on the same hardware and with the same packages installed, I find gnome has some "idle" times where it just stops responding.
For example, when I move a window around the screen there's about a half second delay between my action and the display update.
Any suggestions on what I should look at to fix it?
I'm running an Intel integrated card, if that matters, and use primus to switch to my nvidia one.

I'm thinking is some X server setting that is wrong or missing, also XFCE behaves the same

I did already, where openBSD makes more sense to run. This is my main laptop and Linux is just what I need here.

Do you need a desktop? Is it really useful or are you just used to having one?
I suggest getting i3.

Been using i3 and gnome alternatively, while I find i3 extremely powerful, I don't have time now to set it up again from scratch so I'm using gnome
