"Hahaha, no way this shit is going to beat Nokia"
RIP Nokia, you were the chosen one to generate us tax income for years to come.
When I saw the keynote and the two keynotes that followed I knew Jobs was going to change the world, and I think so did everybody else.
"lol no can possibly be so stupid they will buy this shit"
Turns out I underestimated the stupidity of humans
impressed with the hardware and battery life claims. putting a powervr chip in it was a stroke of genius and what jobs claimed for battery life for browsing was really unbelievable at the time
"That's nice I guess."

At the time I had an SGH-T809 that I'd flashed with international firmware for the SGH-D820. So I had a more capable device, albeit with a much worse interface. Fuck, that thing could read Acrobat and Office documents. It could even print directly with the included USB cable through PictBridge. You could tether your computer to it using the same cable. Oh yeah, and it gave the Java stack network access for running J2ME programs like Opera Mini.
So I knew iOS without an app ecosystem was never going to work. I was also sure that their exclusive contract with Cingular/AT&T was a terrible idea. I still think it's going to be remembered as one of Jobs' biggest mistakes.
