>Most reliable piece of technology

been using it since 2009 daily and still feels amazing

Smell your hand.
>>
i got a Chroma but I hear from every source that its life expectancy is two years, just after the warranty expires. it seems to be a design "flaw" where every time you click, it digs away at something? hence the double click issue, i think. not sure. maybe the old ones were made when razer was still cool to their consumers if they ever were
>>
>>57290033
I had a Deathadder for ~8 years. It finally died when it refused to keep it's firmware. I never had the double click, none of these supposed problems. I used it very heavily too.

The thing to keep in mind with reading reports of these failures online is- the Deathadder has sold an insane amount. There are failure rates in any electronics. The 20 people you're seeing online bitching are a very small minority.

same boat as OP but my hands and mouse smell fine because i wash my hands and do not shit in them
>>
>>57289909
Have one that used to be my brothers and I use it at work. Pretty fucking awesome. I use it with my old 90's Gateway keyboard, the beige one that made the clacky sounds when you type.
>>
I had one of those, it bricked when swapping between computers with different OS's. Lasted me about a month.
>>
I'm still using my copperhead from roughly 2005 or 2006. It's been so long I don't even really remember when I got it, I just know it was after I built my first computer. This thing has lasted longer than any piece of technology I own aside from some old gameboys. I don't know how it survived my college years honestly, or the entire bottle of water I spilled on it a few years back.
>>
I bought one specifically for being reliable, and I was strongly disappointed. The sensor consistently keeps skipping and getting blind entirely, unless I clean both my mouse and my desk twice a day. And I have a pretty fucking clean desk.

For some reason it tends to do a lot better when I use my (shitty and dirty) mouse mat, but mouse mats are horrible. How is this piece of shit even SUPPOSED to work?
>>
bitch my logitech g5 lasted from 2005 until about a month ago

>7 years
Fucking plebeian.

17 years and going.

When I bought this, my CPU was on a slotted card, like a fucking video card, instead of in a socket.

When I wanted to use a peripheral device, I had to reboot my computer entirely before it could be used.

When I turned on my computer, it took several dozen tries before the OS wouldn't just crash in the attempt.

I do not miss late 90's computers or Microsoft software, but holy shit did Microsoft make a good mouse back then.

I'm still using my performance mouse MX, for about 5 years (if not longer) and nothing is breaking down or has broken down, except the logo has rubbed off, even the feet are still in good shape.

Loved mine, got the double click though so brought a chroma, scrollwheel broke with 2 weeks.

Store wouldn't replace it and gave me credit ,so I got this instead and kinda regret it, but am glad to have broken free of the razer meme

OP has no idea what "reliable" or "amazing" really is.

Been using this since 1985, still works, still amazing.

Whats the deal with people using outdated hardware? Nostalgia? You don't see me using my piece of shit i3 because it "still works"
>>
>>57295435
beacause the Model M uses a unique method of key acutation called buckling spring keys. They feel fantastic to type on and are favorites for many in the tech world.

I mean. I liked the razer boomslang. I could never go back to the form factor though.

>>
>Xerox Phaser 3117

>>
>>57297315

My Deathadder had the doubleclick problem after about a year of use. I managed to solve it by opening up the mouse, spray a tiny bit of WD40 into the microswtiches, repeatedly press them (about 100 or so times) and then let dry for 24hours. Problem was gone and still works to this day.
>>
>>57295420
Could you demonstrate?
>>
>>57289909
This. I bought mine a few years back and don't regret ignoring /g/'s "HURRR RICER GAYMUR SHIT" advice at all. The light was off by default and I never swapped it on. The cord never broke on my (real problem with previous Logitech) and the at first strange shape fit my hand just fine. Perfect size too.

My Deathadder 2013 has had a broken left lick for the past year and a half, I just have it stuck on with duct tape.

Its at my moms house somewhere, but I'm pretty sure I could use it to demo the house, give it to my dog as a chew toy then run it over with a bus and it would still work like the day I got it.
