Are there any VPN services that don't cost $10 a month and are still pretty nice?
Which do you personally use?
>>
>>57284182
Yeah, buy a VPS for $5-7 and host your own VPN.
>>
>Which do you personally use?
None. Why would I?

>>57284339 This. It's much faster (almost any vps will give you 100mbit), you will get static ip which is less likely banned or flagged as vpn. It's harder for vps provider to collect your data and you can run anything on it - adblock, shadowsocks, tor, tinc.
>>
>>57284760
I already tried setting up openvpn but it's such a pain in the ass to do
>>
>>57284182
Look for deals. Ghacks occasionally has a good VPN deal. I purchased a lifetime premium VPN for something like $20 (can't remember the exact value, but for unlimited bandwidth and time, totally worth it)
>>
>>57285483
no it isnt. if you follow the howto then you will be fine
>>
>>57284339
>>57284760
Okay guys, so which VPS provider do you recommend? I'm living in centeral europe.
>>
>>57284339
can anyone give me a quick rundown on this?

>inb4 search it up
I will, I just like talking on here. how is this going to stop ISPs from tracking you, doing torrents for example?
>>
>>57286868
get zen vpn instead, globalus

SoftEther VPN
>>
>>57284182
Yes. Generally speaking, the less users a VPN service has, the better, so don't expect someone to tell you what they use.
>>
>>57284182
setup your own vpn server using some cloud machine like digitalocean, it will be even cheaper and of course more secure.
>>
>>57286898
>the less users a VPN service has, the better
Isn't it more secure if more people use it (provided all other factors are the same)

What's the most secure and private VPN provider(s) I can use for less than $25 a month? I'm not going to be a poorfag and get sold out by a (((free))) VPN provider.
>>
>>57286939
No, I doubt. Why would it? If you mean obscurity, that more people use the same service, I don't think so. Usually logs are kept, at least for a week. On the contrary, the more known it is, the more interest to be monitored.
>>
>>57284760
How do you setup adblock at the server level?
>>
>>57286971
>Why would it?
A VPN has a given amount of servers they use. The more people on each server the harder it is to track an individual ( I think).
>Usually logs are kept, at least for a week
Some VPNs promise to keep no logs

If its in the us dont trust it.
If its in a country friendly with the us, dont trust it.
If its not in a country with the us, have fun being an a watch list for having terabytes of data going to and coming from a communist shit hole.

>>57286953

probably shouldn't do illegal things on the internet anon

Lol no. Remember, you have no anonymity on a VPN, only privacy. Don't confuse the two.

Even if there are "no logs", a VPN provider can still be surreptitiously required to pen register an account, which, has all your details tied to it.

NordVPN is breddy good. But then again so are many of the others. Try to find something that keeps no logs and preferrably outside the US.
>>
>>57287017
No. And trust me, all VPN services keep logs, no matter what they promise. The best I've seen (though I don't remember its name, really, also I personally don't use it) promised to keep the logs for one week, for troubleshooting reasons, and only on their EU servers. Some countries require logs to be kept for even six months.

Thanks. I saw this a couple years ago but lost the link.

So how would I get both? (other than Tor)
>pen register an account
That becomes irrelevant when using bitcoin though
