I hate people, especially people viewing tech as a social symbol, as somthing to put on a pedestral and idolizing them.
I have a smartphone.
It's useful to send messages for free.
To check emails.
To have a loop timer for exercize.
To remotely access my linux "server" on the go.
It can do a lot of stuff my pc does, but worse and in an uncomfortable way. It's a compromize for portability.

But unless I need it it's in my bag, for hours straight.
What I dread is people constantly attached to it just to scroll facebook or whatever's in right now, or to watch stupid yt videos.
When they are out with friends.

I spend 10h a day on a pc. It's unhealthy, I know. But normies now have an even unhealthier relation with technology and it's disgusting.

It makes me even feel healthier than normies, and that's scary.

Smart phones have reached the point where it's nearly pointless to continue making them more powerful. People use them to talk to other people, browse the internet, and play shitty games that don't really use much power. They should focus on stability, battery life, and software development. We don't need a new model every few months, what a fucking joke. Smartphones should have release schedules similar to game consoles, measured in years instead of months.

The problem is the internet it self,and specifically google.People no longer need to read shit deeply.No longer do they have to learn to search for things.They instead demand instant information that to the simplification of google.They are given all this malformation thinking it the truth and not looking deeply into it.

I personally like smartphones but hate what they've become. They're a pretty fascinating piece of technology, you essentially have a full, portable computer's worth of computational power right in your pocket. You can do anything with it, receive and send calls, browse the web etc. phones have evolved to being more than just plain communication devices which is impressive. Unfortunately the government and big corps saw the potential of this and decided to turn most smartphones into personal surveillance engines, that collect data about you on a regular basis.
