Cool Google had a cool product and because of shitty accessibility it dies in the cradle. What a huge suprise.

American internet is such a shit show. There's like what! Three major competitors and they all slices up the country into regional turf along with a smattering of nobody local companies. How does Romania beat out the is so badly here.

A big executive left. Obviously there will be temporary setbacks.

America is also huge
Brining Google fiber to all of America would be like bringing it to all of Europe

Wasn't this announced months ago? I remember shitposting about how I already live in a Google fiber city and therefore don't care.

Because 10% of Romanians live in Bucharest, not just the metro but actually in Bucharest. The rest of the country could have shit internet but so long as Bucharest is fast the whole country's average would be fast.

>Comcast has data caps.
>AT&T will probably follow suit soon.

This is the darkest timeline.

Cable Technician Here

Yea, I do some moonlighting for google fiber.

Google's problem, in my honest opinion is they have no clue how to conduct operations outside of their organization. You can't just lay a bunch of lines, you need to co-exist with so many other entities. Utility companies, city, state, counties, other cable companies, etc. The cable companies have been around for so long, they have no issue accomplishing these things because they have agreements and contacts that have been setup for decades. To be quite honest, they really need to partner up with an established ISP to provide google fiber. Doing it on their own is flopping.
