I used some lighter Otterbox for my S4, but am using a Defender for my Note 4.

I don't play phone games. There's foam on the inside back of the case to keep the phone in place and also for shock absorption.

The downside is only heat if you try to run too much at once. It won't be a problem when I get around to limiting how much actually runs.

Once my new SD card arrives I'm going to root it and install Greenify with Xposed to stop apps starting on their own.

I managed to get a good deal on a stock OC'd 980 ti with an aftermarket cooler after the 1070s came out. Beat its price:performance ratio by a wide margin.

Deals are really about timing, but don't pick a sketchy site just because of the price or you're going to have a bad time.

Because it's windows. When you install it it installs only the drivers for the hardware it needs, unlike the linux kernel which usually includes most of the drivers. Putting it in a laptop and trying to boot it will cause it to shit itself because the hardware is different and it doesn't have the hardware drivers it needs.

This is on palimas.com, you just get re-directed to a fuck you page if you use ad block on the video page, so I added this to ublock so I don't block ads there but still do on the front page.

I have a 4 year old laptop with 4 gb ram and an i5 processor that i run ubuntu on, i use it for uni work, so basic internet and word processing, matlab, and a little bit of OpenFOAM a while ago, it seems to do me pretty well. I also have an iPad 3, which is 3 or so years old. I'm thinking that i might need to upgrade the ipad soon, because it can't play webms, should i get a new tablet and then eventually get a new laptop, or should i get a slate like the surface pro 4? being able to use ubuntu on at least 1 of the 2 is a huge plus to me

I thought my battery had died when my notebook said "connected but not charging" and when the battery reached critical level everything shutdown.
It was weird that the notebook couldn't be turned on just with the charger, it also needed the battery plug in.
So I bought another battery only to find out that the problem is very likely the charger.
I tried reinstalling the ac adapter and all but that didn't work.
Can I be sure that the problem is indeed the charger or is there anything else?

I need to cut a part of a video, extract the sound from it and convert it to mp3. Never did anything like this, what software do I use? I'm on Linux.

I've taken a lot of images, they're all in jpeg format, and all 3-6MB in size.

I know i can manually resize and compress them, but is there any way to automate this? Specially the compression. I don't care too much about resolution if I can get my massive 20MP photos down to 1MB each without too much loss.

So I have a Virgin Mobile HTC 816 that has Cyanogenmod that I got from my older brother. I found that I can't actually activate the phone and use it's services until I restore the stock ROM. I have the stock rom files, but for some reason when I try to transfer the files, it won't let me. I can see the folders and shit and the phone is detected on my PC, but it won't let me transfer files.

I guess this was "stupid" but I used to use an A/V receiver to power my 5.1 Polk Audio setup for my computer, and now I see a lot of people have gone to using a DAC? Is this like a small amp for your speakers or something?

If it works in cat but not in the script, it might be because the script is setting the bold escape sequences. Maybe the font doesn't have that character in bold.

When I have this problem I go through the folder changing all folder and file names to a single letter. After a while it will be under the limit again. If you have a folder system with more folders than you OS supports characters you're shit out of luck though.

I installed Android Studio on Ubuntu 16.04.1 64 bit.
On clicking its icon it shows plugin update available ( says run as privileged user to update...).
I go to its directory /opt/android-studio/bin and run "sudo ./studio.sh". i then click on update, it then restarts and still shows the same update available.

I have an Android device with data plan, a dynamic IP address on my home connection(infrequent changes though), and a handful of Raspberry Pis. If I pick up an extra domain name, is there a way I can get it reliably set up such that I can use things like myphone.mydomain.com and raspberrypi3.mydomain.com in scripts and have the DNS update fast enough to actually point to them, even if they've recently changed IPs? Most of what I have planned now I realize I'd be better off doing with a cheap VPS, but it's a good learning opportunity for the future.

Booted up as normal this morning, everything was very slow so I decided to restart.
Restarted, things were just as slow, but one of my case's fans wasn't running. Decided to shut down.
Upon slowly booting up, it seems my second hard drive wasn't being recognised. I restarted again and everything seems fine now and the drive is being recognised.

Happens in all browsers I've tried (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge)
Persists through reinstalls.

My router setup is as following:

ISP Provided Router/Modem Combo (DHCP Enabled) -> Ethernet cable into my room -> into another router (LAN port, so it works as an access point for the first network)

And my laptop is just connected to that via 802.11ac

The issue also persists through routers - I've used 2, with the same setup, same problem occured.

No idea then. I had something similar before, no matter what browser I'd use, no matter the settings, Jackbox.tv just would. Not. Render. Only on that one computer, and I had all the required plugins, nothing blocking it, and it loaded the website(Viewing source showed the same result as a friend's functional page), it just wouldn't render. Weird shit. Reformatted recently and it works again.
