I need a new apple laptop. Probably going to get the 13" with the memepad just for the better hardware.

Depends on if you use something that can take advantage of the turbo boost. I do a lot of work in Photoshop and Premiere, so that was what made my decision. It's kind of a lot for not that huge of an upgrade, to be honest. It's about 15% of an increase.

Sure, if you're going to upgrade and keep for five years, I'd probably make the investment. Good god get the ram upgrade though. I didn't on this Air that I've been nursing along, and it has been painful. I have a massively upgrade 2010 classic Mac Pro that I use at work, but this 2014 Air with 128GB SSD and 4GB ram is basically unusable for what I do. So upgrade that ram!

Everyone was shit this year:

Google Pixel is an ugly, boring, overpriced phone made by HP.

Microsoft's Surface Studio, like the rest of their surface line, are Samsung-tier memes. That product will be a flop, guaranteed.

The Macbook Pro is perhaps the worst of all, because they took an otherwise fantastic laptop, and completely ruined it.

You know its bad when Dell (FUCKING DELL) is making the best shit out there.

>>
while the touch bar sounds interesting it will fail for two reasons.

1) takes too much time to learn
2) no haptic feedback means no muscle memory means you will always have to look at the keys no matter how long you already use that thing

also killing the sd card slot was unnecessary.
>>
>>57267763

Because they can't put that much RAM in such a machine, at least not yet, and if they did that would push the price to the 15" range and then cut into the profits from those.

Each model has a market segment and those people in those segments buy those models and not the others.

It's very gimmicky. You can tell since they've set it up to do things for programs that have easy hotkeys. So in the Verge video, Safari uses the strip to change tabs (cmd-{, cmd-} which barely moved you off the default typing position). In Word, the strip is setup to let you make text bold (cmd-b) or italic (cmd-i).

If I was a retarded child though, I would be excited to be able to type emojis. So I would probably get my parents to buy me one.

I bought a fully loaded macbook pro 15" for university about 3 years ago for $3.5k AUD which is like 3k usd I think. But now that university is pretty much over, I couldn't justify spending that much money to shitpost on /g/

The fact that they removed the function and esc keys for that meme bar that's $200 extra is beyond me. I don't care if the meme bar made it $200 less, I'd want the fucking keys.

no program uses the function keys.

Because those are malfunctioning pieces of shit.

I had one, fully specced. It's the only piece of technology I've ever returned.

When it went to sleep, it had to be hard powered.

The release mechanism is software based and not hardware, and didn't work 90% of the time.

It was a shit.

My opinion:

It's ok to get rid of something, if you make it standard across all devices, and that's clearly not happening...

It's a clusterfuck, iMac, MacBook Air and even the fucking new low end macbook pro doesn't come with it, why is this?

>some kind of financing program you go through where you pay it in installments
I'm always confused why people use company-specific financing. Here in the UK, you can't move an inch without being offered two dozen credit cards with 0% interest on purchases for 18-25 months. If I had to finance something, I would just get one of those.

Is there nothing similar in your country?
