I really didn't get the benefit in using Arch over a Debian distro so I switched to Ubuntu MATE. How the hell can you guys justify using something with like 0 user friendliness.

It makes them feel smart.

I agree with you but use Antergos.
muh pacman
muh rolling release
>>57263487
Both Gentoo and Arch are should be a joke.
>>57263480
MATE for the win. One of the best distros out there regarding everything.

Regarding of APT.
>>57263480
apt fucking sucks ass
>>57263615
I prefer apt to pacman.
>>57263528
I know what you mean, but before anyone else shitposts, "MATE isn't a distribution, it's a DE."

Sorry guys, keep trying into computers though and someday you might be more tech literate than my grandma

Gentoo is way easier to use than Arch, which is full of vanilla packages and broken AUR.
>>57263480
After working with Linux for a while, Gentoo and Arch are easy as fuck to use assuming you don't make retarded choices. The documentation is awesome, too.

So there's no MATE in Arch's repo's?

It's not like anyone forces you to use it.
I quite like Ubuntu-MATE, definitely the best option out of the Ubuntu family, if you can even consider them part of it.
There's also the option of running Arch with MATE if you want to be extra edgy. /g/ seems to hate anything Ubuntu unconditionally, but in my opinion Work and School has to be stable, not a time bomb that might fuck up hours worth of cousework before you can say 'bleeding edge'.
Overall, I definitely recommend it.
