I am concerned about possible malware or spyware installed on computers sold on eBay and Amazon. Do you think this is safe? http://www.ebay.com/itm/42434WU-ThinkPad-T520-i5-2520M-8GB-RAM-500GB-HD-15-6-1366x768-Win-7-Pro64-/172295766897?hash=item281da0c371:g:Tu4AAOSwPYZU8zS~

Jesus Christ just buy the damn thing and then buy a new hard drive

We are advising you to completely format the hard drive of the ThinkPad you receive, and install a new OS on it. This will destroy any malware and spyware that is even vaguely likely to exist on your computer.
If you want to eliminate that last .001% chance of some malware, you can:
First: remove the hard drive, attach it read only to another computer, and format it completely
Second, reflash the bios with new firmware downloaded directly from lenovo (Google how to do this).
Finally: reinstall the hard drive and install the new OS.
