I'm thinking of buying a new chair, but what I truly want is a chair where I can maybe rest my head once in a while. I hate when I get really fucking sleepy and I can't take a motherfucking nap

Get a proper office chair not some shit covered in fake leather.
>>
>>57252941
This.
I'm very happy with my purchase. I sit in this chair 15 hours a day and experience no discomfort. And it has head support while many 1000$ ergonomic chairs don't, which probably plays a major role in keeping me comfortable. I have the leather version but my chair is covered by a cloth so I can't comment on leather vs fabric.
>>
>>57252637
kys degenerate scum

You probably vote for Hillary aswell huh?
>>
>>57252496
They are large and not fit for small rooms. And a good one costs way more than a normal chair.
Other than that they are a preatty good investment if you sit at your computer a lot.
>>
>>57253252
>And it has head support while many 1000$ ergonomic chairs don't

I'll take the ergonomic adjustments over a headrest

im about to buy a herman miller off craigslist cause theres a shitload of them in silicon valley. but are there fakes out there that i should watch out for?
>>

>>57252637
that chair is absolute dogshit what is wrong with you. shit cracks, the pad gets dented from sitting even from my skinny ass.
>>
If you live in a warmer climate (or have hot summers) get one without pleather, stick to fabric. Your sweaty swamp-ass will thank me.
>>
>>57252496
As someone who uses a Herman Miller, everything you've been told about chairs is all meme shit.

Get whatever you can afford and what's comfortable to you, everything falls apart. Cheap or expensive, it doesn't matter because it always breaks down in the end and you end up paying about the same either route.
>>
Bought an office chair made by a big German manufacturer on eBay for 329€, a lot of companies seem to have surplus (mine was factory ordered exactly a year ago and never used) or other companies/institutions buy in bulk from those who go bankrupt.
My friend's uni had them in dozens in his lab and I asked him for the model and price.

pic related, brand new and has all the settings you could wish for (around 900€ retail], hub and arm rest are aluminium which is definitely nicer than the plastic variant

Few people know but chairs serves as some sort of sitting machine.

Scientists aren't exactly sure about that but every evidence found so far points to that.

My opinion? It's a conspiracy created by the jews to serve as a slave in their offices and to fuck our backs and waste more money on healthcare.

for real just go to thrift stores and keep an eye out for one for $5-10. repeat if it sucks.

can't believe people spend retarded amounts of money on things like furniture or clothing.
>>
I managed to get two steel case leap v1s for me and the missus in great condition and both metal bases for £120, it is the best chair I've ever used.
When it breaks, I am going to buy a brand new V2. I never understood expensive chairs because I never tried one. You won't regret it, spend as much as you can afford without being swayed because it's "just a chair".

So if I collected, it would be been £80 for the pair!

The price made me not care they are both an ugly maroon colour.

Has anyone ever used "open box" furniture places like Madison Seating?

You can pick up a Haworth X99 or a Steelcase Leap for $300 or a Criterion for like $150, which seems too good to be true.
>>
>>57254080
Can you adjust the seat forward or backward?
>>
Ikea Markus is what I use. I wouldn't describe it as "comfy." It's not like a big recliner that you sit in and are like "this is comfy af." But I never get sore except maybe in my ass if I hadn't gotten up in 6 hours. The padding hasn't gotten flat after 4 years of my 230lb self sitting on it. It's super durable and sturdy. If you don't like the handles, you can just not use them. It was $200 when I got it, I'd assume it's still the same. The only thing is that if you are super short, your head probably won't reach the headrest, it isn't adjustable.
>>
I got one of those fancy "ergonomic" chairs you faggots keep peddling and they're SHIT, can't sit in them for long at all without them getting uncomfortable as fuck, just get a regular chair with good padding, that's all you need.
>>
>>57253498
I bought one, its a piece of shit. Cuts circulation to my legs due to that retarded hard plastic edge, and no head support.
>>
>>57257727
What if you are super tall? My problem is that headrests just turn into neckrests
>>
>>57258044
it's not as if most office chairs are hi-back anyway.

>>57257727
I 2nd the Markus
You hit it right saying it's not "this is comfy af". but it's the right seating position for working, but it can also recline, and be locked in any reclined position for video viewing on your ultrawide SUHD 240hrz memextreme monitor.
you forgot to mention one thing tho

Build your own chair out of a car seat

I got a Honda Del Sol passenger seat
2x4 wood frame
lengthened armrests with conduit
ebay star base and brackets
350lb super short gas strut to make up for 2x4 fame height
elbow pads from ebay
chair tilt still works
seat recline still works

>>
>he doesn't just sit on an exercise/yoga ball

You'll look and feel just as bad as you imagine it but your back will improve a lot. No more calluses on my lower back now. I had horrendous posture that I somehow tolerated bruising my back almost permanently.
>>
>>57258543

You have to pay at least 200 for a decent chair.

WD40 is a water displacement spray (hence "WD" and the 40th recipe attempt if you want a little fact to go along with it)
Its not a lubricant, and lubrication effect comes from the dissolving of present old oil.
