Why do 90% of linux distros have retarded names?
>implying Gentoo is a retarded name

>>57240405
90% of well-known GNU/Linux distributions have good, reasonable, or at least tolerable non-offensive names.
>Debian, Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu, CentOS, Fedora, OpenSUSE, Arch, Gentoo, Mint, Manjaro, Antergos, Elementary, Slackware, Red Hat, KDE neon, Mageia, Trisquel
How are any of these names "retarded"? Do you have any objective explanation?
>>57240405
Because 90% of those distros are retarded
>>57240405
because people who make linux are even dorkier than people who use it.
Gentoo is a penguin, which is self explanatory
Slackware is a dope name
The sould've never renamed Backtrack
Red Star OS is absolutely glorious
All the others are fucked up
>>57240405
Why are 90% of names retarded? Like OP for example.
>>57241087
Kali is a better name
>>57240405
Because of anime faggots like you.
>>57240459
i disagree
they are just creative in drastically different ways
architecting a large system from scratch is hard
even if you only work on a small set of the problem, you have to be creative to make usable and extensable solutions
and when inevitably there is a problem, some sort of bug, you have to be able to follow what is happening, essentially requiring that you abstract the way it works on the fly and track down the cause
>>57240405
Slackware is love
Slackware is life
>>57240439
>implying gentoo is 90% of Linux distributions

Too bad most distros are just different aggregations of other peoples' packages and work.

The official pronunciation of Debian is 'deb ee n'. The name comes from the names of the creator of Debian, Ian Murdock, and his wife, Debra.
also rip Ian
>>57240405
compared to what, windows? osx?
>>57244184
what happened to ian?
>>57244198
we will never know the truth but he was talking nonsense on twitter about suicide and afro americans and he was killed by police
the official reason is suicide by cop
I always liked Debian. Outside of Linux, FreeBSD is also good and to the point, it's BSD and it's free. Boring is also good, SunOS, MacOS, etc.
