How true is this meme passing around about a solar flare and we should turn off our wireless devices tonight between 12:30 and 3:30. Also keep them away from our bodies because cancer?
A high energy CME hitting the earth would fry everything. It wouldn't matter if the device was powered off, or unplugged completely. Unless you had it protected in a lead box surrounded by a Faraday cage it would fry.
How would a solar flare suddenly make wireless devices cancer causing?

they are saying that the "high radiation from the sun would cause damage to our bodies", or some such.
My mom called me asking me about it, came here didn't see a thread so I expected it's some facebook/ whatsapp hoax.

Have you ever heard of sunburns?

I believe Earth's magnetic field is able to protect us from a solar flare attack.

It can for the most part. Powerful ones have been known to get through though, I think there was one in Alaska a while ago.
