Hello /g/ I need a new harddrive, wich ones should I avoid? Wich ones to consider?
Since you don't know these things, I assume that you are just a simpleton consumer.
Then why would you want a spinning drive?

I am a simple consumer, I want a spinning one because they are cheaper and last longer

Thanks :)

>cheaper
Sure, but also very slow.
>last longer
Does this even matter anymore?
In 10 years, disk space needs might be different than they are today, so I don't see why this matters.
I have always replaced my drives before they died, either when I needed a new machine or they simply weren't big enough to hold what I needed.

I think I will be reading/writing/formating a lot more that a normal consumer.

My oldest ssd is 7 years old, and that still works fine.
It was too small (128gb), so I bought an additional 512gb to my laptop.
I write a lot to both disks as I test a lot of software that relies on this.
Speed matters.
If you write and read more than the average consumer, why do that slower?
