I only have one desk to work with, I do all of my work/assignments on it. I constantly have to move the keyboard out of the way to make room for textbooks or projects. Having a small size especially with a detachable cable is really useful, plus I bought it for dirt cheap from a friend, even though I rarely use the numpad, I do miss it.

Most of the monitors on this list should allow full movement.

But even if the monitor can't be rotated by default, if it has a VESA mount you can always buy a mount for it that will allow you to position it however you'd like.

Bought new desk from IKEA today and going to finish it tomorrow morning. The Raspberry Pi (3) on the desk is bridging the wifi to ethernet (wifi card fried a while ago) because the wifi extender I have is too bulky to fit in the cable management bit of the new desk. Apart from slightly higher ping it's pretty rad (would be cool on the desk but that would defeat the object) and puts no load on the pi at all for some reason.
Also I'll start sperging out on organisation when I bring in this new desk.

I had glass desk once and I loved it while it lasted because it was easy to clean but it broke while I was moving. Don't think I'd buy one again even though I'm sure it could have been avoided. I don't stand that often, but I change the way I sit a lot. I can always keep the desk at a perfect height when I do, even small adjustments of just 1-3cm can make a big difference to comfort. Comes in handy a lot more than just raising it all the way to a standing position every few days.

Standing being comfortable sometimes aside, it's also incredibly convenient when doing other things around the apartment. I don't have to sit down if I'm cooking or cleaning and I want to check something at my computer quickly. Also very useful when putting computers together.

If you're in a city and it goes slow, it's not because of bad reception. A big antenna just gives you more bars.

The 3G modem and router thing are about 150 € in total, but they're mid-range rather than ultra cheap devices. Antenna was free.
