Yeah, not that useful. Firefox and Chrome link to FFmpeg directly (like VLC and mpv,) so that's just another thing they do better than IE. IE's internal architecture is about as antiquated as DirectShow anyway, and Microsoft has replaced it with Edge, which does not use DirectShow.

MPC-HC as my main player but when it starts fucking up because my PC is toaster and I don't know how to configure it well, I use Potplayer as a backup which has it's moments of fucking up.
