Is there a non-autistic version of this?
what do you mean by "non-autistic"?
if you don't want programming books, maybe don't look to /g/ for book suggestions?

this
those are excellent programming books OP
although there's one called Effective C++ or something that isn't on there that i always heard was god-tier back in the day
If you can complete just the God Tier alone with a decent level of comprehension the rest are largely optional based on your goals.

Once you understand Knuth, you don't need Cormen. However, Pragmatic programmer doesn't belong there. It's common sense. I'd replace it with Clean Code by Uncle Bob.
Knuth is namedropping fodder no one on this board actually reads.

Didn't Bill Gates already mention that nobody actually reads Knuth's "Art", just puts them on the shelf to be pretentious?
Anyway those books seem to have nothing substantial on the issues of computability (Cormen is ridiculously insufficient on that) and concurrency.
Most highly-paid jobs in Programming deal with requirements engineering and project management anyway.
Those "programming skills" so highly praised here are for the outsourced Indian IT-cattle anyway. Good luck finding a proper job with those archaic, stone age fire-making skills.
How can a book teach you about computers
