First off those are AMD video cards, so they'd require a crossfire bridge. Second. AMD has long since given up using a hardware bridge, and has the cards communicate through pcie bandwidth. Something Nvidia still hasn't done for whatever reason.

I made some mistakes in my build because I listened to my big brother, "NO GET A PSU WITH HIGHER WATTAGE YOU DON'T WANT YOUR COMPUTER TURNING OFF WHEN YOU PLUG IN A PRINTER" and then I returned the nocuta nh-15 because he said it was shit because it needed 2 towers for cooling and to go for this CPU cooler in pic related because he said it was good and it made his room cold. I decided it looked like piss so I went to him and said if this dark rock 3 was good then he said yes.

That feel when no reason to upgrade this gen, feels bad. I'm hoping Zen gives Intel a good reason to actually improve their products, because I feel like haslel is going to last until 2020. Volta also not out for at least another year, don't plan on getting Vega.
>>
>>57193793
CPU tech is at a standstill right now (for Intel at least, AMD has time to improve and catch up), there hasn't been a good reason to upgrade CPUs other than features and compatibility in a long time
And you're gonna need to upgrade GPU eventually, a 980 (or 2 980s in a small handful of games) won't last you years and years

I might consider getting a 1080ti near the end of its life span unless Volta is extremely promising. Thankfully holding shares of Nvidia basically pays for my upgrades. Might just do the 1080ti regardless and then buy single x80ti's every other gen from here on out.

1080ti can do 4K games at high/maxed settings though, if rumors hold true it's gonna be a great price/performance card, just incredibly pricey

Dear /guts/.

First, I want to thank you, like /pcbg/, for your advices that helped me pick up parts for my new PC.

I have however some doubts that I would like to ask about.

1) Case I use is Corsair 200R - more expensive than previous choice (Zalman Z3 Plus), but wider (21cm vs 19cm) and I was not sure if my CPU cooler would fit in Zalman case. However, I dont really know, what should I do about the holes for additional fans on the top - this is the first time I get case with so many extra places for those. To be more precise, I want to reduce ammount of dust it might get inside the case (which is located under my desk). It might sound stupid, but would covering those with, for example, mosquito net folded in two, be enough? I dont want to make airflow harder than it should be. This is also related to second question, which is:

2) Im afraid about temperature levels, especially CPU. While RX480 Nitro operates within expected ranges just fine (60C under medium load and noise - reviews were not really precise with idle temp, which is indeed around 27 at the start, but slowly reach 50C and usually wont drop down 45C when doing nothing else than just displaying webbrowser and desktop), but my CPU, while having 27-32C on idle and around 60-70 when under mid/heavy load, when I launched game Guild Wars 2, it was reaching occassonally even 82C on some of the cores, while CPU fan was working under its max (box stated that it can reach 1600 rpm +/- 10% and it was runnign at 1715). I know that GW2 is not really well optimized game, but it seriously made me worry, if my machine properly handle heat.

I couldnt find 212 Evo or similar in my country, so I picked "local flavor" in form of SilentiumPC Fera 3, on ethe advice of the guys from the shop anyway.

What could I do in order to improve cooling in my case?

Thanks for all replies and help, like always.

Choosing between a 1.2TB Intel pcie SSD (pic related) or a 1TB crucial MX 300 m.2 SSD. Crucial is of course cheaper and performs worse, but for loading games, will the Intel make the difference? For instance, loading modded fallout 4 off of a Samsung 500GB 850 EVO still takes as long as a minute at times.

>inb4 Samsung 950/1050 pro

They all throttle. If I'm forced to use heatsinks on my SSD, I'd rather the full coverage sink on the Intel.
>>
>>57194684
950s slay the fuck out of any other M2 SSD, I'm saying that as an Intel 600p owner. The 960 pros coming out soon apparently did something about the heat and throttling
>>
>>57194684
950 pro speeds are extremely similar to that 750 you posted, and much much much cheaper $/GB
>>
>>57194582
Not sure what CPU you have but it looks like it's skylake, shouldn't really be getting that hot. Get and reapply some different thermal paste and also look into better static pressure fans for the fin array on your cooler. If you got 2 120mm SP fans working in tandem it should keep the CPU cooler and quieter. Never heard of that brand for your CPU cooler but it sounds shady as hell. Would also be beneficial to have more fans on the front of the case pulling air in. Finally, if you really leave your PC on the carpet you better flip your fucking PSU, you're going to destroy it like that.
>>
>>57194719
The 600p isn't and wasn't exactly meant to be a crazy performer. Only a reliable and affordable m.2 SSD. The Intel 750 while a tiny bit slower than the 950/960 had the much much better heatsink.

I'm torn. It looks like the 960 pro m.2 will offer a 2TB model. And a 1TB model for $620. But still the only thing they did was add a tiny copper sheet under the sticker as their way of a heatsink. Still heavily leaning towards the Intel just based on the heat dissipation because I'm in a low air flow R5 case. Last thing I want is my performance SSD throttling. Or worse, requiring high air flow to not throttle.
>>
>>57194806
How often are you writing at 100% load for hours at a time?
Those M2s don't just start boiling water out of nowhere because they're on

>>57194835
I do a good deal of video editing and such at times, but I highly doubt I'll be pinning the SSD to 100% too often. It's more about the potential of random read times. The m.2 would honestly be 100% for game space. My current data based 250GB and 500GB 850 EVO drives would be turned into work space.
>>
>>57194871
A few more SSDs and SATA SSD raid is also a good option
>>
>>57194756

CPU and others are listed on speccy on the pic I added. Its i7-6700k by the way.

Forgive being green, but I was always using stock coolers before - what are "static pressure" fans? You mean the ones within my case, blowing air in and out? Also, mobo have only one slot for powering fan left.

As for brand, again, its local flavor - shops generally have those instead of Coolermaster and such and claims that they have same performance. Other brands exist, but are costly, like this Noctua cooler and similar.

What you mean by flipping? Should I put something under to rise it more over carpet to make it easier to get air to psu?
>>
>>57194896
I was considering that. Cheaper alternative. Could snag another 500GB 850 EVO drove for $150 and just raid 0 the fuckers. Back them up to a 1TB mechanical just in case.

Static pressure fans are just fans specifically designed to push air through things like radiators or thick CPU coolers. Corsair and Noctua sell nice ones, but there's plenty of other options. Just make sure whatever you get can be mounted properly (hopefully your cooler came with extra mounting brackets).

As for flipping the PSU - put it fan up. Putting a PSU with its fan down directly on carpet will burn it out. That or you need to put your computer up off the ground.

Looking at the 600p reviews, it is barely 2% faster than some of the middle of the road SATA based SSDs. At a higher markup. I can get the MX300 1TB for $250. Maybe this was based off of old reviews/firmware? Because the pic in >>57194961 shows the 600P and >>57196898 the MX300. Yet looking at reviews online tells a different story.

>looks absolutely retarded

Hoping you at least have a 360 rad in the bottom, but i'm doubting it from seeing how stupid this build is.

Who the fuck uses wifi on a desktop anyways...

if you do have a 360 why didn't you put that on top, and stick the 240/280 front rad in the bottom...

>retard spends more money on his water cooling loop than necessary and it cost more than his processor.

Not a single EKWB product in sight either.

Those video cards are so huge I mistook part of them for a pcie SSD at first glance.

That's just sad. Not even a kingsdan from the CSG thread.
>>
>>57200423
its some sort of thermalright cooler judging by the fan
>>
>>57191853
Why are you using an old PCI card for your SATA controller? That motherboard should have plenty of SATA connections on it already.
>>
>>57196231

Case is little above the ground, but I guess I will put something extra to keep it little higher.

Yeah, cooler came with extra brackets and I think I can place additional fan on the opposite side.

Thanks for advices!

Why?

I got this case recommended here. Its the most expensive case I got so far.

>>57198949
I have a SM951NVMe, it was a lot cheaper than the 950 pro when both came out, not sure now, but it's a fast ssd, but really I haven't noticed much get faster apart from boot, I have arma 3 and fallout 4 booting from it but that's it for games, have a separate ssd for others.

>>57200207
do it yourself, cable pin removal tool set is like $5 on aliexpress, sheathing $15. it's easy, I done mine
>>
>>57200191
Not really fampai. It enables you to get better airflow at lower RPMs so you can maintain efficient cooling while keeping the sound minimal.

Radiators are too dense to operate at low RPM, even if it's sufficient for the radiator, everything else would be starved in a front configuration like that. P/P makes sense.

>>
>>57202471
You have to count to at least 10 before they get confused.
>>
>>57200732

Two more questions:

Should I mount additional, different fan on the opposite side of cpu radiator or replace default one as well? I mean, would two different ones work properly?

And what about those top crate on the case? Keep it covered by some net or not?

Also, about rising case above carpet - would just placing it on some piece of wood be enough? Case have some rubber legs on its own, Im just afraid uf not too short.

Forgive me, this is the first time I get such powerful rig, before I was always getting cheapest cases with already added PSU and no airflow, and stock cpu coolers.

gorgeous. more info?
>>
>>57200035
Hm?
>>57201923
Yeah really leaning on getting the 1070. It would max out my 450w psu. Dont think I could go for a 2 x 8 pin variant. Luckily evga makes a 1 x 8 pin one and at 10.5" length to boot which is the gpu limitation of case. Will decide boxing day or black Friday.

Looks good. Ram im dimm 1 and 3 triggers me a bit though, just because the manual usually tells you to use 2/4.
Normally I don't like all the exposed hardware/capacitors but you made it look nice.
>>
>>57192997
first of all you should try to achieve positive air pressure in your case.
This dust doesn't look nice.

Place a few more intake fans into you case
>>
>>57199806
Well it just barely beats my top-of-the-line SATA 730, and while its a small win, it's a clear win for the 600p
Personally I would say get the 950 pro or do SSD RAID if you're concerned about speeds. I'm going to RAID my 730 with another 730 and it should beat the M2, of online 730 raid reviews are right
I don't know what reviews you're seeing but I'm confident the 600p will just barely beat any SATA SSD out there. The read speeds are already faster than what SATA 6Gb/s can handle

>>
>>57200565
because somewhere between my boards controller windows 10 and my 1TB black drive transferring any amount of data causes windows 10 to lock up

though hopefully when i upgrade to an intel CPU that problem corrects its self

Your GPU looks like it's sagging. You need to give it some support.

nvidia's HBM bridge is two SLI bridges bolted together
you can get the exact same performance by using two floppy bridges
