give me one example
I have the exact opposite problem.
>use no-ip dynamic DNS
>set up hostname
>works fine
>try www.hostname
>does not exist
>try to set up CNAME that lets me add the www. part to hostname
>no-ip won't let me
>>57191312
Don't you have to pay for some sort of subscription to no-ip to be able to change CNAME records?

My local library's website used to be like that. I visited just infrequently enough to forget why I couldn't connect every time I tried.
server
{
server_name website.cum;
return 301 http://www.website.cum$request_uri;
}
It's literally this fucking easy. I don't know why this is even an issue for some sites.

I don't know anything about web but that sounds like something that shouldn't work
How is "www" part of your hostname? Why should it be?
Seems like a subdomain for a domain which you should own yourself. Not some free (presumably, since you appear to be running a server and don't have a domain) no-ip DNS service
>>57190346
>run a webservice in tomcat
>type into address bar: localhost:8080
>goes to http://www.localhost.com:8080
>>57191312
no shit you have to buy it retard

Actually, only example I know.
