Hey /g/uys i have a question to you.
which one would you choose

A) Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro+ 4GB for 248€

or

B) MSI Radeon RX 480 GAMING X 4GB 309€
>>
>>57188795
Sapphire
You must be new here, you never buy anything else else AMD then Sapphire
>>
>>57188803
Yeah I'm new. Can you tell me why it's better I heard it gets hotter and more louder than the msi one?
>>
>>57188803
Sapphire no brainer. 59€ difference is way too much
>>
>>57188795
XFX GTR
>>
>>57188823
Try both yourself. Return the one you don't like.
>>
>>57188823
>I heard it gets hotter and more louder than the msi one?
that's just some bait faggots like you spread

Sapphire is the #1 Cooler brand for AMD GPUs. Can confirm myself with my R9 390. Only reason you'd hear claims that MSI is better are because retards trying to justify their bad decision in a cooler. Sapphire all the way if you're going AMD.

If you have any questions about it let me know.

Just get this one
>>
>>57189407
Ive seen alot of bad reviews on various sites for this card. Its a shame, I kinda liked it. The star of david is really a deal breaker, along with the questionable reviews.
>>
http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/8192MB-MSI-Radeon-RX-470-GAMING-X-8G-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_1115921.html

Faster and cheaper than the shitty 4GB cards you listed.
>>
>>57189477
??? 470 better than 480 ???
>>
>>57189498
Having 8 GiB instead of 4 GiB makes a far bigger difference than an extra 100 MHz clock rate.
>>
>>57188803
Except the MSI is by far the best 480, whereas the Nitro is cheaply-built and loud. Not that it's worth another €61. The whole Sapphire = amazing maymay only applies to their Hawaii/Grenada and Fiji cards.
>>
Why would anyone willingly buy an AMD product?
>>
>>57189611
Because I don't have ass loads of cash/cum to buy a new GPU every year or so...
>>
>>57189625
What does that have to do with anything? I still have my GTX 570.
>>
>>57189611
Great meme. File it with EA and LJN.

Slightly off topic, but don't want to start a new thread.

Is it worth spending $50 to go from a gtx 970 to a 980ti?

He means Red Devil one.

They even sell it cheaper than the Red Dragon (which is slower) in some stores. It's a total marketing fail. I bought one myself for a ridiculously cheap price.

I heard that they removed the star from the card's backplate in a new version.
>>
>>57189583
This.

Always do your research. Trends change and manufacturers cut corners or improve. There are no constants. (except for Intel jews, amirite?)

XFX took the throne on RX480 but on other models get sapphire one

best rx480 coolers ranking
1. XFX
2. Sapphire
3. HUGE POWERGAP
95. MSI
96. Powercolor
97. Stock
98. Gaygabyte/Anus
>>
Sapphire was good in the R9 3XX era. Unless you want an RMA.
>>
>>57189011
Is there direct VRAM cooling from Sapphire yet? The VRAM on their cards always gets too hot and is a bottleneck for higher overclocking.
>>
>>57188795
AyyMD? Might as well burn your house down right now

I think this is he right thread to ask. I have a 7870 2gb card, and i'm running out of vram just buy playing WoW and playing video in the background. Maybe a few tabs open in Chrome. What would you guys recommend?
>>
>>57190793
Except powercolor didn't get it wrong. The six pointed star is to open a summonsing, the five point star is to protect from it.
>>
>>57191955
Got this over the 480 about a month ago. Definitely worth it, and you might get one of the models that can be unlocked to match a Fury X.
>>
>>57193103
can I use that with a 600w psu?
>>
Sapphire made the best 460, performance and temps wise
Sapphire didnt make the best 470, since they have stuck with a blower design for some reason
They have made the best 480 because of cost to performance ratio, XFX makes the most powerful RX 480 though

Sapphire is a top tier brand, they are the Zotac of AMD, they go for the best performance build quality
>>
>>57193186
Possibly, based on the rest of your setup. I'd say 650w at least.
>>
>>57193739
I don't plan on overclocking it.
>>
Thread somewhat related and don't want to start a new one.
Is a sapphire nitro r9 fury for 350€ a good deal? My local store is having a sale on them so they are completely new and have the warranty and shit.
>>
>>57188795
> Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro+
This because Sapphire is number one OEM for AMD. They and HIS get the best chips. Others are so-so, have never had a good expirience with MSI unless it's a reference.
>>
>>57188795
sapphire tends to have coil whine.
my asus doesn't.
dunno about msi.
>>
Not OP but I'm torn between an RX 480 and an R9 Fury. The RX 480 has a higher clock speed and more memory but I've heard the R9 Fury is better for some games.
>>
>>57189498
From the price point I was looking at.

I got an MSI RX 470 8gb for £195 and it's functionally only 10% slower than the 480.

For an MSI RX 480 8gb it was around £269.

It's really quiet even at full whack and cool.

Got the RX 460 2GB for $104, pretty happy.
>>
>>57195758
AMD just dropped the price...
>>
How do I push my card to the max thermally? My MSI RX470 never gets above 70c under loads, even a 1350mhz oc won't make it heat up more.
>>
>>57188795
XFX
>>
>>57196021
More voltage
>>
>>57196040
Voltage is auto in WatMan, and I increased the power limit. OC just ends up unstable at 1400, and manual voltage doesn't work at all for some reason, even if set to defaults.

Though I haven't tried since I updated my drives from 2 months ago. I'll have to check it
>>

>Fuck the facts i'm going after my fanboy shit
XFX GTR is THE BEST RX480 on the market now, your sapphire may not apply.
>>
>>57195977
Currently selling for $99 on newegg, which is where I got it. So $5 difference.
>>
>>57196117
I had one but sadly mine artifacted to piss so rather than risk it I got the MSI.
>>
>>57196021
What settings do you have on afterburner?
>>
>>57192783
Thats fucking gay
>>
>>57188795
I would choose the Sapphire one since the cooler doesnt make that much of a difference.
If you want to spend 60 euro more, you could get a very nice GTX 1060 6GB
Or a normal one for 10 Euro more
http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/6144MB-Gainward-GeForce-GTX-1060-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_1113110.html
>>
>>57196635
The cooler doesn't make a difference? I keep hearing it does
>>
>>57188823
my rx480 nitro+ oc 8gb runs cooler and quieter than the gtx 1080 in my other pc
>>
>>57196701
Yeah well, the fucking chip stays the same
But you can get decent temperatures and noise with a good cooler.
You shouldnt buy a single fan cheapo cooler with a 1mm thin heatsink.

But dude, you really think MSI makes a THAT much better cooler than Sapphire? They both will give you the very same performance with minor differences in heat.

Anyone? I've currently got a 7970. Should I upgrade, or should I stick with it?
