Answer: Depends on your needs. To some, Windows or macOS is the complete solution because "it just works." In their notion, everything else, namely open source/free source, "sucks" because it cannot be easily configured or they don't have the time to fiddle with it - "the learning curve is too steep." But what "sucks" to some is actually what makes open source/free source interesting to other people. If the system doesn't pose a challenge to these people, if it doesn't break and they cannot fix it themselves because it's closed-source, it's boring, therefore "sucks."
