Why haven't you learned Ruby?
It's like a retarded version of javascript and I hate javascript.

I want to learn Ruby. The syntax looks interesting. I started on why's poignant guide to Ruby and put it down almost instantly because I just wanted to learn Ruby. Now I'm thinking about going back to it because it was interesting, but not for learning Ruby. Give me some recommendations for books that will just teach me Ruby.

I've literally not seen a Ruby job listing in the last two years unless it was sysadmin related.

Strange.
I did study ruby in college, along with rails.
I'm busy learning Fortran. Not like I'd ever bother learning Ruby anyway.
