Who else here is going to stop using Windows altogether once extended support (security updates) for Windows 7 or 8 run out?
(I know, I know,
>still using Windows in current year
but I have it for vidya gaem.)
Zomg they are monitoring me. So fucking what none of us here are doing nothing illegal. If you are, I hope you get caught you fucks.
So you're gonna switch to a systemd-based linux distro instead?

You're on /g/ so you should know better but here, let me explain the obvious shit: Hackers can hijack backdoors and surveillance shit meant for the NSA. In most cases they'd have to man in the middle you and spoof some server but in some cases the NSA or Microshit or both could fuck up and leave an insecurity in the backdoor.
Also it's possible that what's legal now may become illegal later, and if fascists take power they'd probably make a shitload of things illegal with ex post facto laws. I bet if /pol/ took over the country I'd get ovened for saving a bunch of weird porno that's perfectly legal today.

Probably. I haven't been keeping track of the autismwar where people hate systemd, what's the matter with it?
>>57177417
I already did.
>>57177728
>but muh gaems feels like working and don't want to see them
That sucks. I hope you start taking joy in fun things again soon anon.
What the fuck does "immanentize" mean? Is it some epic cultural reference?
>>57177905
"Immanentize the eschaton" is an obscure cultural reference to some conspiracy theory shit and basically means "start the end of the world on purpose."
>>57177417
Eh, why even wait if it's a security reason? Migrate your main computer and its data now, Windows always has been more problematic than the alternatives.
And I think your vidya games don't need much security.

dumping win7 for freebsd was an easy choice compared to moving on from firefox 3.6.x
>>57177417
I've already switched my desktop to ubuntu. All of my servers are linux so it wasn't a particularly difficult switch. I'm too lazy to switch my laptops from W7 to linux. I'll probably get around to it in a few years.
>>57177417
Thinking of switching to Xubuntu. I tried it in a VM and I liked it.

It's complicated and involved as hell, and a lot of enviroments require it now for most functionality. I don't mind, personally, but some *nix fundamentalists really get irate over it sometimes.
>>57181364
>>57177755
if you've never used linux without it, then you probably won't understand the difference. you'll just learn how to use systemd and think it makes sense to have all this functionality dependent on and tied up in a monstrously large and complex process with binary logs and unnecessary layers of abstraction and feature creep and all this other bullshit. kinda like if turning on your computer required you to shove a special biometric authentication dongle up your ass, you'd question it maybe once or twice, but whatever, all the other cool distros use it so you should too probably. hell, some people really love it. for some people, that's the best part of turning on their computer. they keep their asshole stretched and greasy so that the dongle pops right in there in less than 3 seconds.
everything makes sense when you don't know of any better alternatives.
I'm not a paranoid fuck who's afraid of botnets. Some of you act like this is the equivalent of soviet spies.

>>57177417
well I am using windows for a layer of compatibility. However I never gave any network access to it so no botnet there

It's much worse than soviet spies.
