I do pretty much all of my non-4chan browsing through a VM that's connected to a VPN in a different country. I change VPN servers once a week or so. My RSS reader and downloads go through that also.

AT&T was keeping tabs on the sites you visit and selling them to advertisers and charging you money to opt out of it, and my provider (Comcast) was making noises about wanting to follow suit before the FCC said "Don't make me come down there again"

I'd rather include all my browsing in the VPN but pretty much every VPN server is banned, and I don't want to pay twenty bucks to Gook Moot. Both on principle and because knowing my luck I'd get banned for some mickey-mouse transgression two days after I got the thing.
