OBS Stream settings

OBS is garbage.

Pretty standard settings, x264, 6000kbps, 720p60, downscale with lanczos.

Keeping bitrate low is good so more people can watch

But once you switch to the studio version use 3500 bitrate 720p 60 fps, twitch bans for streaming above that bitrate unless your partnered, then you can do 4500

This. Max bitrate you should use is 3500. Professional streamers all use 2500-3500 and stream in 720p

Download OBS Studio, switch your encoding method to NVENC or Quick Sync, use the Indistinguishable preset.

nvenc has gotten a lot better. I use it, because my cpu can't handle streaming and gaming at the same time.

It's still kind of a disaster at low bitrates, though. I've had much better results with x264, no reason not to use it unless your CPU is unusually weak.
