Some chinkphones don't have NFC because mediatek is pushing some own in-house NFC-like standard that nobody uses. This is why I still don't have a nice cheap chinkphone. I would have to buy at least xiaomeme mi5 which is still too much for a phone in my shithole country and my lack of money. Even cheap LG phones have NFC.

I still never use either so I'm not too fussed.

I just like mediatek because the devices that use mediatek tend to be better value than their Qualcomm counterpart and similar in performance usually. I have no bias towards either brand. My last phone had a SD800, my current phone has a mt6753.
