While I agree the creator of sr.ht is a fucking dick, I do see the reasoning behind what his reply to your statement would be:

Fake pages have been a thing for a long time.
Actual services too, but eh...

Normies aren't on the lookout for new services/websites. They might be looking at the apps listed in app stores and whatnot, and listen to what their friends recommend, but that's about it.

Teknik is a really nice group of services, and I like it a lot. I've recommended it to a bunch of tech illiterates I know, and we even used it in class.
Sadly, no one seems to be using it after that one time and I don't know what to say to them.
