Netbook thread?
What do you use /g/? The last one I had was pic related, I loved it as an inbetween my phone and my macbook and I wasn't ever worried about it getting dinged up. What are my more modern options?
Does a X61t count as a netbook? I cant use a laptop below 12" without getting annoyed.
Its a nice device for watching shit in bed at least.
>>57157970
damn, it was sexy as fuck, 8" 1600x800 screen.
Too bad there were not good enough cpu when it was released.
would use/10
>>57157994
Right? Why was this market abandoned? I feel like it'd be the perfect inbetween with current technology.

Tablets.
My mom gave me her old Samsung N150 and I installed Xubuntu on it, don't have any reason to use it though.
>>57158217
>Xubuntu
Yea, I wouldn't use it either
That's super pretty. I'd love a wide netbook like that, without a touchpad. Slip that shit in a coat pocket.
I've got an Asus Flare 1025 or something, but it's so slow even my mum abandoned it. Lubuntu doesn't help.
>>57158262
Well, I tried a few different distros, but most were to hevyweight for the N150, and Xubuntu ran smoothly. Got another suggestion?
>>57158499
Use a distro you like that supports a minimal installation, like ubuntu minimal, and set it up with i3 for low memory footprint.
>>57158499
Lubuntu. Even lighter on ressources. All those DSL and puppy distros are meme shit.
was thinking of pre-ordering the pyra
but it's just so clunky
I'd rather have an updated version of >>57157970
also, while I don't particularly mind ARM, there are still a lot of application where I would prefer a cisc cpu
>>57158499
Windows 7 lite runs better than Ubuntu minimal+Openbox on my N150
>>57158695
I'm buying the Pandora the moment it comes out

Sony VAIO were great laptops. It's sad that Sony ceased to make their beautiful laptops.
>>57159618
Get the GPD WIN.
>>57159686
Nobody was buying them.

>Chink
>Intel Atom SoC
>No Linux support at all (source: all intel soc tablets)
>2 hours battery life (source: ptitSeb, who has a devkit)
No thanks, I think I'll stick with the Pyra.
>>57157970
I've got an IdeaPad S10, saving up for a Let's Note CF-RZ5.
>>57157980
I know there's no set screen size for netbooks but personally I wouldn't count anything 12"+ as a netbook.
>>57159686
VAIO's still a thing, it's just its own brand instead of a Sony line now.
>>57157970
Still using a eee pc 1005ha. I would throw so many bucks at asus for the exact same shell with, a modern quad core atom CPU (passive cooled), 8gb of ram and a a IPS screen.
Too bad the marked pretty much died, we have either very expensive portable PC or absolutely garbage tablets.

>>57158082
>>57158089
fuck off faggots just use a stripped down version of xp, 7, 8.1
>>57160240
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT LITTLE THING GIVE ME LINK NOW
>>57161327
what do you mean?
we are able to appreciate sexy piece of hardware
sony vaio p design was aesthetic masterpiece
>>57161639
utilize cpu efficiency by remove certain packages from windows you do not need i.e. use ntlite to strip the os down
>>57157970
would fit so comfortably on those single pocket in the middle sweaters from the nineties
why did those ever die out?
those sweaters were fucking cash. would be so great for carrying crappy tablets and crap like OP
