Why would Micron-chips cause problems?

I thought the whole point of JEDEC was to make chips of different makers be interoperable.

The chips probably conform to specs, but Nvidia drives them (the Samsung ones too) OCed beyond the edge for ricing. And they probably based their testing and specs on Samsung without properly validating the same parameters with Micron chips.
