SystemD is a botnet. Also it is extremely resource hungry. It is a fucking joke on anything embedded or small.

SystemD is what will drive the final nail into the Linux coffin.
>>
>>57156280
There are Distros changing from SystemD.
>>
>>57156280
Another gold tier reasoning.
I'm sold again.
>>
What makes people start curiously retarded threads like this? Just weird. Alice in Wonderland shit.
>>
>>57156280
Main purpose of systemd is doing to Linux what OSX Lion did to OSX, making every device that uses the new version of the OS a part of the NSA botnet.

Literally this. Open source software can't be trusted for privacy because literally anyone (read: Kremlin/Chinese govt.) can place a backdoor in the code.

With Windows you know you're safe because the code can't be edited and Microsoft can be trusted because they're an American company.

>>

Let me rephrase: More distros are changing to be not only on systemd.
Devuan, Arch and Manjaro, KDE Neon unstable come to mind.

lol

>>57155065
I don't use Linux because I have a fear of being spied on, I use it because I like Linux software more.

Sir, it appears you don't understand how opensource works.
True: Anyone can read the source code.
True: Anyone can modify their own copy of the source code.
True: Anyone can send a patch to be applied to the official source code.
False: Anyone can modify the official source code.

Currently most of Linus Trovalds work is dedicated to reviewing and applying/discarding the patches that are sent in.
>>
>>57157748
That's how GNU/libre software works, but not open source. Open source just means you can view the code, but not all open source code follows the four essential GNU freedoms. Viewing the source code is just one of them.
>>
>>57157797
Then please point out an opensource project that goes against what I have written. Please note that I have not mentioned anything about redistribution of the modified source code, nor compilation, nor linking to other code. I only focused on who is allowed to change the source code of the original project since that's what is required to add backdoors (if you're worried about distros injecting backdoors on their own - use Gentoo).

I may have worded the part about sending patches in a misleading way. My intent was that anyone can send patches, but there is no guarantee that those will be applied.
>>
>>57157896
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that you described the four essential freedoms, but not all of open source projects. Some open source licenses prevent you from modifying the code altogether, which is a needed freedom from GNU. You're overcomplicating things, open source and libre software are two different things.
>>
>>57156280
>That reasoning
Holy shit

>>57157926
But I haven't mentioned the four freedoms. The only things I've mentioned were that you are able to read the source code and modify your own private copy of it. I'm yet to find an opensource license that disallows that. Many have things to say on what you can do with the modified code (how, if at all, can you redistribute it, can you redistribute the compiled program that's based on your mofidications and if so under what conditions, etc.).
Heck, what I've written about doesn't even fully cover freedom 1 of GNU, since I haven't mentioned anything about running the modified source code. That's why I'm dumbfounded by you pulling in the four freedoms into the conversation.

He used Wireshark to sniff outgoing packets, found one that looked suspicious, and decrypted it on cmd. It output two unidentified files, which turn out to be pngs of stuff he did.
>>
>>57155567
Easily mitigated by using compiler flags. Cia btfo'd by a fucking compiler flag.
>>
>>57158244
The packet was 1KB. How the fuck are you going to get two full resolution PNG images from a 1KB file?
