How can I be sure Linux isn't tracking me?
>>
Read the source code
>>
>>57154578
Meticulously go through the source code at least 3 times.
>>
You can install any number of independent network monitoring tools, or even monitor your network signals directly.
>>
The NSA patched the kernel with a backdoor and commited it to the main branch. They are everywhere fags.
>>
$ kill 1
>>

>>
You can't be sure of anything. All you can do is play the odds. And the odds are heavily against linux 'tracking' you. If you're truly paranoid, just avoid Unity, Gnome, snd KDE. They index and store information about your system and usage. Use a firewall. gufw is simple. Use strong passwords. Encyrpt private information. It's not hard to be reasonably secure on linux.
>>
You can literally check the source code yourself. There are enough paranoid, autistic savants out there going through every line of code they can who would post proof of backdoors and security holes if found.

I have Manjaro XFCE

Is FreeBSD free of any sort of indexing/storing?
>>
>>57154696
Dude TAILS lmao
>>
>>57154719
Tails is unsafe. It can connect to a network and literally has an "unsafe" browser.
>>
>>57154696
You're fine. FreeBSD is overkill and not worth the trouble.

Oh yeah? Which browser do you consider secure?
>>
>>57154771
None. I'm literally shaking right now...
>>
>>57154727
>Tails is unsafe. It can connect to a network and literally has an "unsafe" browser.
This is untrue. Tails is about as secure as it gets.
>>
>>57154578
You can't.
Everything that's not been verified by a trusted and transparent third party has a backdoor by default.
>>
>>57154780
It gets stored in RAM. If the FBI were to break down your door and grab your RAM before it gets wiped, you're fucked.
>>
>>57154619

When you are SWATed just yank out your battery. Unless you were a poor fag with low RAM and using swap, you shall be okay.

They about the battery...

T-they k-know e-everything..........

They interrogate you, and torture you until you admit what you were doing....

>Everything that's not been verified by a trusted and transparent third party has a backdoor by default.
This is, of course, absurd. But a useful tactic for fear-mongers and FUD spreaders in general.
>>
You can't, you have to trust other people who tell you it's trustworthy. Even then, it doesn't matter because if your OS isn't tracking you, your browser and your smartphone definitely are.
>>
OH easy, you just run dtrace!
Wait, Linux is so shitty it doesn't like for its users to use kernel tracing.
>>
>>57154847
If you can't identify mushrooms, it's a good idea to assume that every mushroom you pick is poisonous unless a verified and transparent third party is around to tell you otherwise.
>>
>>57154898
Verified by who??

The NSA!?

The beard and body odor is a pretty big indicator.
>>
>>57155179
The government doesn't care as long as they don't have to pay them very much...

He would be the perfect mole...
>>
>>57154578
It's as simple as passing all your network traffic through a packet analyzer and well.. analyzing it.
>>
>>57154578

You have to (((trust))) the people who (((audit))) the code and the hypocrites who tell you to read the code even though they don't read it themselves and don't even know for sure if GNU/Linux actually tracks them.
>>
>>57155181
stallman CONFIRMED nsa mole

this changes everything

lol, yeah because an undercover government agent would never think to look like a hippy.

Provided that the compiler you use for your kernel isn't backdoored.
