My monitor and my desktop tower are no longer communicating. I changed monitor cables between the two ports on the card - no luck. Guessing the card is fried.

Bought it a few years ago from iBuypower. Monitor is an Acer G215H. Tower is an i-Series 301. Motherboard is an M4A77TD. Current card is a Radeon HD 5700, what would be a good upgrade? I occasionally play some games like SC2, otherwise it's just Web browsing, etc. Can't afford high-end, just want a good value.

arround 100€ you have many hd7970 or r9 280x (r9 380-gtx960perf)
if you wan`t more power for 150€ you have r9 290x.
(rx480/gtx1060 perf)

im a different anon, but first off change the slots your ram sticks are in (take the one furthest from CPU and put it closest to CPU)
secondly, the RX 460/470 or GTX 1050ti would be worthy cards (if the ti delivers on its promises)
I have a 290x and it demolishes any game I have, my R9 280 played the same games very well
